Have Wheels Will Travel: Staverton’s Mobile Office Furniture
Mobile office furniture is a staple of the modern office environment.
With agile working now a widespread practice in businesses of all sizes and sectors, employers need to offer flexibility and choice in order to support how employees work, and to ensure the longevity and relevance of the workplace itself.
Here, we share three of our most mobile pieces of office furniture and explain why they’re so well suited to your open-plan, agile workspace:
1. TT
TT is a highly flexible and versatile modular grid-based shelving and storage system, ideal for defining and zoning spaces within the office. In addition to the partitioning of space, TT can also be used as a backdrop for employee collaboration, as the grid structure is capable of housing full media and AV connectivity, sitting or poseur height tables as well as whiteboards and many other elements that support the agile environment. One of its unique features is that TT is now available on castors making it easier for organisations to adapt their office space as needs and working styles dictate.
Staverton’s Marketing Manager Carlo Delucchi said: “TT offers mobility in two ways. Firstly there is the possibility of moving its physical location thanks to the castors. Secondly, because the furniture helps to define space and create different activity-based settings, it encourages the movement of people throughout the office. Satisfying these two needs in one piece of furniture is highly effective and practical.”
2. SMS
SMS is our mobile sit-stand desk solution. SMS features individually lockable and load-bearing castors that enable the user to move and adjust their workstation with ease whilst also providing the wellbeing benefits of a sit-stand desk. A simple locking mechanism ensures that once the desk is in situ it is both secure and wobble-free. The SMS range also features our plenum unit that enables a simple and safe ‘plug and play’ solution for the user. This removes the need for the facilities team to decommission a desk every time it requires movement.
Carlo said: “The modern workplace is centred around employee choice and empowerment. Providing furniture they can personalise and move is an important part of enabling agility. One day SMS could be moved to make a bank of desks larger for teamwork, and the next it could be in a quieter part of the office. SMS offers the ultimate in individual employee choice.”
3. Flip Top Tables
Once reserved for training rooms only, flip top tables are a highly flexible piece of office furniture that is well suited to the agile workplace. Available in a variety of sizes and with the option to integrate power and data services – these tables feature castor wheels and are easy to nest. The result is a piece of furniture that can be brought out, moved or put away with ease, whether that’s in a meeting, conference, training or open-plan space.
Carlo added: “The workforce has never been so transient. With hybrid working here to stay, the office experience has to be rich in choice and variety. Mobile, flexible furniture offers just that and gives employees and facilities professionals the scope to shape the workplace to suit their personal needs.”
Staverton is well known for being a UK office furniture designer and manufacturer, a sit-stand desk manufacturer and a workstation supplier – but most of all we are problem-solvers with an innate knowledge of how changing workplace behaviours require more from agile office furniture solutions.
