Tech-Led Office Furniture
Technology underpins the very essence of how work is done for most businesses. It shapes how teams communicate, collaborate with each other and meet the needs of clients and since the pandemic, it’s been crucial to hybrid working. But now that mobility is essential to both the act and place of work – many businesses are finding their office furniture doesn’t support the agility or the tech-led ways of working they need.
As a result it’s become timely to re-evaluate the role of the office environment and reconsider whether facilities and spaces promote or impede positive employee experiences. For offices to become hubs for face-to-face collaboration and creativity (which is important to 75% of employees[1]) – office furniture has to be fit for purpose. It has to help define different work zones, create activity-based settings and support increasingly tech-led behaviours. It’s no longer something to just sit at or on – but a tool to facilitate work.
How is technology shaping office furniture?
It’s why we’re seeing heightened demand for what we called tech-enabled office furniture – that is furniture designed to support the use of different mobile technologies and increasingly agile behaviours.
Today’s technology is mobile, intuitive and easy to use. Consequently users expect all aspects of the workplace to offer the same ease and intuition, including office furniture. Whether that’s easy access to power, the ability to connect with screens wirelessly or furniture that houses cables discretely rather than having them trail across the floor – effective office furniture has to make agile tech-led working easy.
At Staverton we’ve always prided ourselves on being able to integrate power and technology within our furniture – it’s all part of solving clients’ challenges and ensuring that office furniture is up to the task both today and tomorrow.
So, here we showcase four of our best-selling pieces of tech-enabled office furniture – each of which can help to deliver an easy agile experience:
88 Collection Tables
Named to commemorate our 88th year in business, the 88 Collection of desks, benches and tables include the discreet cable and power systems management that Staverton is well known for. By ensuring unobtrusive access to power and effective cable management, the collection not only has a clean and uncluttered aesthetic, but also offers easy ‘plug and play’ for users. Plus, thanks to HDMI connectivity, users of the 88 Collection can also sync with stand-alone digital screens (no wires needed) to help with presentations, team meetings and collaborative working.
Staverton Workwall
Workwall is a modular wall-mounted system that can host TV monitors, VC cameras, whiteboards and more. Because it’s purpose-designed to support technology – all power and data cables are concealed, ensuring that tech-led working is quick and easy. It’s also available in many configurations, sizes and finishes for maximum workspace and user flexibility.
Staverton Scrumwall
Scrumwall is a free-standing version of Workwall. It houses AV capability discretely and can be used to define different spaces as well as provide tech-led working settings. We designed it to meet the increased appetite for workplace collaboration and give organisations the longevity and flexibility they need. So, it can support standing height tables for quick exchanges and accommodate sitting height desks for teamwork – but perhaps more crucially, it can include technology such as screens and power sockets to make collaborative working, presentations and simply recharging devices, easy. The inherent flexibility of this product makes it a staple of the modern agile workplace.
Staverton TT
Staverton TT is a grid-based partition and storage system with a bold aesthetic. We designed it to support hybrid ways of working, define spaces and build storage into the office – all while offering unparalleled levels of flexibility and reconfigurability. This modular grid-based shelving system can accommodate standing tables, lockers, cabinets, whiteboards, TVs and a whole lot more, plus there’s a mobile option with wheels for the ultimate in agility as and when needs change. For example, one side could house a standing height table and media unit so small teams can work on presentations together, while on the other a collaboration work table provides the ideal spot for group meetings.
The Staverton Way
We’ve been solving clients’ furniture challenges for decades and we’re earned a reputation for being able to incorporate cables, power and data into our office furniture with ease. It’s one of the reasons we’ve seen as innovators – finding ways to combine form, function and flexibility in response to clients’ specific challenges and changing behaviours, without compromise.
