Star of the BBC’s The Apprentice, Gabrielle Omar, will top the bill at this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week (22-24 May 2012). For timings of all our events, please read below:

Local Clerkenwell chefs will create an over-sized paella for guests in Zip’s new display kitchen making use of the iconic Zip HydroTap.

The Energy Industries Council (EIC) is the leading trade association for UK companies supplying goods and services to the energy industries worldwide. Staverton were appointed to supply and install desking, meeting tables and storage to The EIC’s new office, located on the Albert Embankment, London.

The EIC desired to create a modern contemporary working environment and Staverton was briefed to deliver a cost effective, quality furniture solution in line with their new space. The client required desking and storage for 40 staff. The meeting room furniture needed to be flexible to enable it to be continually changed to cater for different styles of meetings.

Staverton ZD workstations were specified in the openplan office, each with a tower storage unit. A special brush strip was designed on the back of the worksurfaces to prevent pens and other stationary falling through the gap. Staverton PR workstations were specified in the cellular offices, which provided an elegant and sophisticated executive environment.

Bespoke Staverton flip top tables with linking elements were manufactured for EIC’s meeting rooms. This cohesive solution allows tables to be stored when not in use, as well as link together to be suitably arranged for various types of meetings. Staverton have manufactured and installed contemporary furniture in keeping with The EIC’s new office space.

Travelex selects Staverton furniture for its newly refurbished head office

Travelex has evolved from being an innovative bureau de change operator into a dynamic and diversified worldwide money business. The Directors at Travelex’s London Head Office wished to generate a more open work environment, where communication and co-operation between the company executives and their staff would become intuitive.

Staverton were appointed to supply desking, tables and storage to create a fresh and contemporary feel to the space. Staverton were required to differentiate, yet provide a relationship between the executives and their personal assistants’ furniture and create a wire free environment below the work-surface.

Staverton were tasked with providing appropriate furniture for the new executive floor following the removal of all the cellular offices. The L-shaped desks needed to be changed to straight benches by reusing the substructure of the existing desks.

Walnut veneer desk and table tops were supplied for the executive area and contrasted with Staverton’s porcelain and high gloss white finishes specified for the personal assistants workspace.
Side return storage cabinets with full width sliding drawers removed the need for pedestals. Pear wood mfc tops and new screen panels were supplied to suit the existing furniture framework.
Power and data was integrated into the work wall panels, which divided the space. Humanscale’s Liberty chair was provided to give a light and open feel to the seating as well as provide a first rate ergonomic product. Boss Mars, Layla and Kruze soft seating were specified for all the informal and meeting chair requirements.

Sylvain Pignet, Travelex’s Group Company Secretary says: “We are all very happy with the results. We are now in really nice offices…and we find it much more collaborative than it was before, due to the fact that we now work in an open plan space.
