Meet the Team

Made up of highly experienced and creative product designers, engineers, joiners and space-planners, Staverton’s team understands how to combine form, function and flexibility.

Ashley
Bluer

Ashley joined Staverton’s Sales Support Desk in 2019. She’s here to answer your enquiries — in person, over the phone, or online — ensuring you have everything your need for a best-in-class experience with us. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys gaming and walking her dog in the great outdoors.

Caroline
Warren

Caroline’s 23 year career with Staverton comes in two parts, with a rather surprising stint as cabin crew for British Airways in-between. A high-flier, Caroline knows Staverton inside out and has worked in numerous roles including sales, administration and payroll. A huge sports fan (although she stresses it’s watching it not playing it that she likes) Caroline also loves books, be they fact or fiction.

Craig
Ashton

Craig is in his second stint with Staverton. His first was 1995-2003, but he couldn’t keep away and decided to rejoin us in 2022. Craig is our expert in sales, training, and production coordinating. In his spare time, Craig enjoys football, cricket, and the guitar — plus spending time with his family.

Dave
Roberts

Dave joined Staverton in 2021 and is the operator of our new CNC processing machine in the Rotherham factory. Well known for his acts of kindness and prowess in the kitchen, Dave also cooks for local charity Rush House in his spare time.

Frank
Fitzpatrick

Frank joined Staverton in 2022. He’s highly skilled in upholstery manufacturing, the training and development of our people, health and safety, and product development. When he’s not doing all that, Frank enjoys (trying) to keep fit, drawing, art, and the restoration of upholstered antique furniture.

Gary
Marshall

They say loyalty is hard to find, but we’ve found it in our Designer Gary. Gary joined us fresh out of school back in 1987 and has been here ever since! As well as almost 30 years of experience, he brings an honest, helpful and respectful attitude to every project he works on. When he’s not designing impactful solutions for clients, Gary enjoys watching motorsports, especially Formula 1 and British Touring Cars.

Ian
Samuel

Ian has over 30 years’ experience in manufacturing industry, he initially joined Staverton in 2002 as our Production Director. Having left in 2005 to pursue other challenges, he returned to us in 2016 to join the board and head up Operations for the company. When Ian is not at work, he loves motorhome holidays travelling around Europe and enjoys watching his sons play cricket and rugby.

James
Barke

A product designer for the last five years, James joined Staverton full-time after impressing the directors with his vim and vigour on his university placement. Full of ideas and the newest techniques, James has been highly involved in the development of the new sit-stand desk. Arguably Staverton’s biggest music enthusiast (punk rock is his favourite) he’s also a keen guitarist, songwriter and player of retro video games.

Jamie
Wilson

With more than a decade in the furniture industry and a passion for all things Staverton, Jamie is the perfect ambassador for the business. In his role as Sales Director, Jamie focuses on business development and promoting the brand. Outside work, he loves to exercise and spend time with his friends and family.

John
Lawther

John joined Staverton as a Design and Development Draftsman back in 1999 and brings decades of experience to our design team. Known as ‘Mr Kudos’ for his screening knowledge, John is a hard worker who likes a challenge. Outside work his interests include art and puzzles and he is a big sports fan, following everything from football and rugby to Thai boxing – although his enjoyment is largely limited to watching these days!

Mark Powell

Mark
Powell

Prior to joining Staverton in 1999, Mark worked in the construction industry. He started as a machine shop operative and his passion for the job drove him to learn the secrets of the many machines involved in Staverton’s daily operations. He is now machine shop Manager and has total responsibility for the shop’s activities. Mark is a family man who enjoys walks in the countryside, quiz nights with friends and sports.

Paul
Edward

Paul is Staverton’s managing director and one of Staverton’s most knowledgeable and passionate team members. Paul started his career in office furniture in 1978 and has been a driving force in Staverton’s success ever since. A dog-lover, tennis fan and keen social butterfly, Paul also enjoys spending time at his home in Spain and on the slopes of the Alps.

Phil
Whittaker

One of Staverton’s longest serving members of the design team, Phil is an experienced workplace designer and space planner with a keen interest in ergonomics. Outside of work Phil is a member of a Scout caving group and enjoys world cinema, contemporary literature and drawing.

Richard
Wild

Richard became Staverton’s technical administrator in 2000, but not before a rather varied career including working in a toyshop, as a driving instructor and as a call centre manager. A proficient juggler (we’re not joking), Richard has a keen eye coordinating all technical aspects of Staverton’s projects with complete accuracy.

Tony
Cole

Tony is Staverton’s chief design and manufacturing director. Tony is the very heart of Staverton, using his 30+ year’s experience in manufacturing and engineering expertise to devise a solution for every design challenge. His no-nonsense Yorkshire approach guarantees plain talking, even for the most complex of design solutions. Outside of work Tony enjoys art, architecture and music.

Tracey
Bastow

Tracey is another long-standing member of the Staverton team. Working as quality and environmental officer Tracey ensures that Staverton maintains its ethics, standards and production obligations including ISO 9001, 14001 and the FSC chain of custody. Tracey is a keen theatre-goer.
