Tailored solutions for adaptable offices
The Challenge

A leading financial consultancy based in Trafalgar Square wanted to create more flexibility in how its offices were used. Traditionally, each office was tied to a partner or director, making it difficult for others to use those spaces when the owner wasn’t present. The firm sought a furniture solution that would respect the needs of the room owner but also allow the offices to be used dynamically as shared meeting spaces.

Having seen Staverton’s products at the Workplace Design Show at the BDC, the client recognised that we had already been developing solutions for exactly this challenge. They knew from earlier interactions that we could adapt our products to their requirements - tailored rather than fully bespoke - striking the right balance of flexibility, design consistency and practicality.

The Solution

We recommended our EX range, tailored specifically for the firm’s two floors of offices. The EX system offers the clean, fitted look of bespoke joinery but with the adaptability of a modular product, making it ideal for offices of varying sizes.

EX Wall & Storage: We designed tailored modules for each office, ensuring a consistent appearance across the workplace while adjusting dimensions to fit individual rooms. The storage included a single key lock system, enabling room owners to secure personal items while making the space usable for colleagues in their absence.

Sit-Stand Desks: We developed a desk design that could serve equally well as a workstation for one or a collaborative table for multiple users. Features included softened edges, discreet cable management, and custom sizing for each office.

Our approach was highly consultative. We held multiple workshop sessions with the client, installing trial workstations to test layouts and functionality. We worked closely with partners, AV and IT specialists to ensure every detail—from technology integration to ergonomics—was aligned with the firm’s vision. Internal visualisations were shared throughout to give the client a clear understanding of how the finished product would look and feel.

The project moved from initial discussions in February to development within two to three months, with final delivery approximately a year later. Manufacturing for tailored elements was completed within our standard 8–10 week lead time.

The Outcome

The new offices now give the client the flexibility they were seeking. Partners and directors retain workspaces that feel tailored to their needs, while the addition of secure storage and collaborative desk setups ensures the spaces can be seamlessly repurposed for wider use.

The solution has unlocked new levels of collaboration across the business—spaces can now adapt to the moment, whether that’s a partner working individually or a group using the room for a meeting.
