We’ve helped with the design, manufacture and installation of workstation furniture for companies from different industries, with different requirements but all sharing high expectations for workstations that encourage wellbeing and productivity among their employees. The project began with an intensive review of user needs to help Paddy Power Betfair explore how to achieve its agile working goals. This process was undertaken in close cooperation with the client team and included product storyboarding and mock-ups for testing and user feedback.

Staverton’s challenges included creating a softly shaped bench workstation, with minimal joints, to encourage more flexible working and less ownership of desk space. Some of these benches also had to accommodate high-level TV screens.

Staverton also developed an AV solution suitable for small VC rooms, where both high & low tables were requested, and designed a new storage programme to include client-specific compact lockers, a recycling station, a printer hub and coat storage.

Office Desks Solutions Workstations

TalkTalk largescale call centre building required a minimalist bench furniture system to allow flexible occupation for employees working in multiple shift patterns. In addition, there were further requirements to provide training and AV specific furniture solutions within the offices.

Staverton designed an ultralight 3.6m benches with continuous single piece worksurfaces, so that there would be no demarcation between users. This led to the client’s request for a single 3.6m dividing screen to complement the worksurfaces.

We also redesign our desk structure to incorporate a single movable central leg for the 3.6m bench so that power could be picked up at any point within a 1000mm of the centre line, so that floor outlets wouldn’t need to be relocated.

BREEAM Environmental Performance

A building’s environmental performance is evaluated, rated and certified by the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM). The office furniture that we supplied to our clients, the Co-operative Group, in 2012, helped their workplace One Angel Square receive the highest score ever awarded by the rating system – an impressive eco-rating of 95.16%. BREEAM recognised the materials used in our products, their recyclability and life process. These are guaranteed through ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems, FSC® Chain of Custody Certification and FISP Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme.

The Co-operative Group required a bench workstation for its new Manchester head office that would manage all power requirements above floor level and reflect the open-plan design aesthetic.

Staverton designed CL, a bench which houses a power distribution unit in the intermediate leg and saved the client more than £250,000 in electrical installation costs. CL also offers inset-desk top power for easy plug and play, optional sliding top access to concealed cables and worksurfaces that appear as if they’re floating.

More than 20 years ago Willis Towers Watson approached Staverton with a brief for a bespoke 120-degree desk to become the company’s standard and solve its complex at desk power and data needs.

Staverton designed and manufactured a desk with an integrated technology tower, providing access to power above and below the desktop. It’s testament to the scalability, durability and classic design of the Staverton solution that it is still the standard today.
